Rick Phillips

Rick Phillips is an award-winning architect, planner and urban designer with over 25 years of achievement in the conceptual planning and design of large-scale urban engineering, transportation, and community development projects. He lives in the Bay Area of California and is deeply involved in work transforming statewide livability through the advancement of California High Speed Rail and other projects.

Rick is a licensed architect in the State of Arizona. He presents and speaks regularly at conventions and academic meetings on the intertwined roles of land use and public transportation in supporting a sustainable world. In 2007, he authored the citation on “Transit Oriented Development” for the new international reference book, Landscape Architectural Graphic Standards.

Rick has participated for over 30 years in progressive political work with a focus on Palestine and Israel reconciliation. In the late 1970’s he served on the editorial staff of The Eye, a journal of political criticism published by Canadian Friends of Pioneering Israel (Canadian affiliate of Mapam-Hashomer Hatzair in Israel), a Canadian secular Jewish organization advocating self-determination for the Palestinian people. Rick serves on the boards of The Israel Palestine Project and the Global Abundance Alliance, has collaborated with Jack Berriault on the writing and editing of A Common Historical Narrative, and curently manages the TIPP website.

Since 1998, Rick and his wife Donna Kuck, an accomplished energy healer, have participated in the programs of Landmark Education.
